Boston Property Search FAQs
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about the MLS Property Search for Boston, MA. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me at Charissa@HomesInNewton.com. I'd be more than happy to discuss these with you.

  1. How do I see a property?
On the MLS page you can EMAIL AGENT. Or you can use one of the links to email me. Just make sure you include 2 times in which you're available to see the property, and the MLS number for that property. I can also be reached at my office at 617.566.0300.

  2. What if I'm "just looking"?
One of the biggest comments I get from past clients is the fact that I was very patient with their search. However if you have no intention of purchasing or selling I would ask that you refrain from registering. This service is for people who are seriously looking to buy or sell.

  3. Why can't I be working with another agent?
MLS Rules and the Realtor® Code of Ethics prohibit me from working with another agent's client. This applies to written contracts either with you as a seller or a buyer.

  4. Why do I need to register?
Again, MLS Rules require me to get valid contact information before presenting properties for your review. This is a saftey feature for the sellers of property that is listed in this MLS.

  5. Why do I need to provide contact informtion?
Firstly, basic contact information is required by MLS Rules. Secondly, I've run into instances where I've tried responding to someone about a home they would like to see, only to have them forget to check their email, and in turn, miss out on the property, much to their chagrin. While email is an incredibly useful means of communication it is not always as reliable as traditional means.

  6. You restricted my access, why?
There are various reasons why I might have restricted access to your account:
    1. You provided incomplete/false information in your registration
    2. Already working with an agent
    3. Invalid email
    4. Numerous returned emails
    5. No response to inquiries

  7. Why can't I search the entire state?
Once again, this is due to the MLS regulations for data display. I am only permitted to allow access to the areas that I service. I can and do make exceptions and add towns for specific users upon request.
